Our readers would love to “get to know you” better. Can you share your “backstory” with us?
I was born in Romania escaped with my family at the age of 5, my father driving 68 hrs non stop to reach Italy to live in a refugee camp for 2 yrs. Back then the US government did background checks before entering the US. Arriving in NY at the age of 7 the world was my oyster and I took life by the horns. I graduated highschool at 16 and went running to be the best female cosmetic dentist in the world. Reach high always. Never give up no matter how many obstacles life throws you.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career?
So many things have happened in my career span and still so much will happen. I think the first shock to my system was when I was in dental school I asked my peer to teach me I am a sponge for knowledge to be the best cosmetic dentist that I can be. His responses was your either born with it or you aren’t. I went home cried for 3 days put my big girl pants on and went on to take every course out there to learn everything I can. 14 yrs later at one of his lectures I was clinical assistant professor at NYU by now I thanked him for his words made me so angry I pushed myself to achieve it all on my own. I didn’t know if he wanted to kill me or hug me.
What were the main lessons or takeaways from that story?
Always get out of your comfort zone. It is the only way you can elevate to the next level. Never give up no matter what others tell you. Follow your passion and you will succeed.
Can you share a story about the biggest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?
I think the biggest mistake was being naive and believing all people are like me believing that they all have good intentions. I now do not trust anyone unless they prove to me in time they deserve my trust. Employees especially look out for themselves and sometimes not for your business. You are the only person that will take care of your business so you must always stay on top of all your staff. Always do it yourself and not delegate others to do the things you should really do yourself. It will never be the same as when you do it.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?
My parents for getting me out of a communist country at such a young age. I don’t want to sound insensitive but I have not had anyone that has helped me I have always had to work 65% harder than everyone else. But the satisfaction is 200% higher when you do it all on your own. I live my life that nothing is impossible you just have to want it and reach for the universe you may not get it all but its 85% of infinity and you don’t lock yourself into a box.
When it comes to health and wellness, how is the work you are doing helping to make a bigger impact in the world?
I bring health, happiness and confidence to everyone I touch. A smile is so important from health to self confidence. Transforming peoples smiles brings out the best in people and truly helps them find their inner groove. Self confidence is a very sexy thing if you know how to help people find theirs within. It’s a wonderful feeling for me at the end of everyday. I love to help transform people for the better. If people feel good within they can share that with the rest of the world, hopefully happiness wins over hate.
Can you share your top five“lifestyle tweaks” that you believe will help support people’s journey towards better wellbeing?
Sleep is very important. I try to sleep min 8 hrs everynight. Itkeeps my equilibrium very calm and centered. Eating a healthy organic diet and yes enjoying a glass of wine with dinner but not in excess. And most important is exercise in a smart way 1hr, 5 days a week weight training and 5 min cardio for a warm up. Muscle mass keeps your metabolic rate youthful. Vacations are good for the soul. When you go off to a different destination you absorb the energy that you incorporate into a better you.

If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of wellness to the most amount of people, what would that be?
Sleep, nutrition and exercise efficiently and enjoy your life and free time. Take a breather 1-2 days a week for you.
What are your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Started” and why?
Exercise and food portion control and as you grow older chances you must change with it and not remain the same.
Sustainability, veganism, mental health and environmental changes are big topics at the moment. Are any of these causes important to you, and why?
I do not believe in radical movements such as veganism. I think meat in moderation once or twice a week is fine fish is wonderful and moderation and balance is key!
